Tibetan Association of Philadelphia- CANDLE LIGHT VIGIL

Date:            SUNDAY, MARCH 16th
Place:           Liberty Bell
                             MARKET STREET - BETWEEN 5th & 6th Street
                             Philadelphia, PA

The Tibetan community of Philadelphia is holding a Candle Light Vigil, in Philadelphia, on Sunday, March 16, 2008 from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Market Street between 5th and 6th Streets, in front of the Liberty Bell

The purpose of the vigil is to bring attention to the current violence against Tibetan monks and people inside
Tibet.  Communist troops with automatic rifles are moving through the streets of Lhasa and firing at Tibetans.

The Tibetan Association would like Americans to come and stand with them in a peaceful vigil to send a message to the United States government to ask
China to begin a dialogue with the Tibetans to bring about a peaceful solution.

"I appeal to the Chinese leadership to stop using force and address the long-simmering resentment of the Tibetan people through dialogue with the Tibetan people. I also urge my fellow Tibetans not to resort to violence."

The Peoples' Coalition For Justice and Humanity urges all of our allies to attend this vigil.  It is so important for us to come together under umbrellas of compassion such as this on.  This is one thing that you CAN do in the name of human rights.  You may feel that as a single person there is not much that you can do, but together digging with spoons we can move mountains.

Thank you for your continued committement,
