Carol Williams

Bio~

Carol Williams is a native Philadelphian. During the 1960's she served the community as Deputy Minister of Information for the West Philadelphia branch of the Black Panther Party.

Mrs. Williams was essential in the effort to establish several Black Panther and Young Lord's Free Breakfast, Free Clothing and Free Medical Clinics through out Philadelphia.

Ordained during the 1970's as an Evangelist Missionary, she continued to serve the people through her faith and teachings of the scriptures.  After graduating from Temple University with a double Bachelor's Degree in Social Work/Education with a Justice minor, Williams continued her mission as a member of People4Change.   Her community activism and accolades are far too numerous to mention here.

 During Black History Month 2001,Williams was elected by the Philadelphia Metro News as one of 10 Black Females In Philadelphia to Admire. Others on the list included, Patti LaBelle, Pearl Bailey and Roxanne Jones. The Metro honored Williams for breaking down the racial barriers in the ice hockey pressroom as the first and only Black journalist and editor of the Just Hockey News an international publication.  In 2003, she achieved a certificate in Community Law from the Philadelphia Bar Association.

In 2001, this award winning writer began to penetrate the walls of the Pennsylvania prison system bringing a message of peace and redemption. She was honored on several occassions by the Graterford SCI staff and branches of the NAACP and the Gray Panthers.  Williams is still very involved in prison isues.   Ms. Williams is an award-winning writer, whose work is featured in "Celling America's Soul" an anthology composed by prisoners and supporters.

Williams is deeply involved in community organization and healing and is the founder of the People's Coalition For Justice And Humanity www.justiceandhumanity.com) an informational service that connects people with information about local and world situations impacting on the human condition.

Ms. Williams is currently a staff writer for a Philadelphia weekly African American newspaper. She is also a columnist with the Black Star Newspaper and freelances her work with other publications. Williams has appeared on the television show "48 Update" for her innovative report on Teens Living With HIV/AIDS. She was also a guest on the Dr. Faye & Company show aired on the Urban Cable Network.

As a part of her work as an activist and "solutionary" Williams produces and hosts Grounds 4 Discussion a weekly radio talk show on the Afroradionetwork.com.

Williams is also the owner, founder, president, producer, co-engineer and webmaster of WWCR and the People's Coalition For Justice And Humanity an international effort to help people to regain their humanity.
